Robert J. McKenna, Jr., MD is acknowledged as one of the most experienced thoracic surgeons in the field and is co-director of the Womens’ Guild Lung Institute at Cedars-Sinai and has served as surgical director of the Women’s Guild Lung Institute. He has researched extensively, and has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters, as well as the Atlas of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery (VATS). He is also an author of Medical Management of the Thoracic Surgery Patient.
Dr. McKenna holds an MD from the University of Southern California, and completed a residency in surgery at Stanford University Hospital and a residency in cardiothoracic surgery at the Hospital of Good Samaritan, Children’s Hospital and USC Medical Center. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons as well as the American Association for Thoracic Surgery and the Western Thoracic Surgical Association.
