Rogerio A. Lobo, MD is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Fellowship Director at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. He is a co-author of Comprehensive Gynecology, 6th Edition.
Dr. Lobo received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He did his internship and residency at the University of Chicago Hospital, and performed a fellowship at the University of Southern California Medical Center. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology/infertility.
Dr. Lobo’s primary research interests are in reproductive endocrinology, hyperandrogenic disorders and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Dr. Lobo helped found the Journal of the Society for Gynecologic Investigation and has served as Editor-in-Chief since its inception. In 2010 he became President of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and he remains on ASRM’s Executive Committee and Practice Committee.
Dr. Lobo excels in his areas of clinical interest and practice: reproductive endocrinology, infertility, PCOS, and menopause. He has lectured extensively nationally and internationally, and is highly sought-after to speak in the areas of his expertise. Dr. Lobo has a special interest in gamete biology, induction of ovulation, in-vitro fertilization, estrogen metabolism, and the treatment of postmenopausal women.
