Sara C. McIntire, MD is a professor of pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC.) She also serves as Advisory Dean of Student Affairs. She is the co-author of Zitelli and Davis’ Atlas of Pediatric Physical Diagnosis, 6th Edition.
Dr. McIntire has been honored by UPMC with a Faculty Recognition Award for Medical Student Teaching, an Academy of Master Educators recognition, and a Golden Apple nomination. She also received awards while a medical student at the University of California at Davis, including the Senior Student Award for Excellence in Pediatrics, and the American Medical Women’s Award for excellence in medical education.
After receiving her medical degree from UC Davis in 1984, Dr. McIntire performed a residency at the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center of the University of Washington at Seattle.
Board certified in general pediatrics, Dr. McIntire is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has contributed to published articles on NSAID use in children, extrapulmonary inflammatory pseudotumor in children, and clinical problem-solving.
