Stephen W. Moore, MD is a family medicine practitioner at Sonora Family Practice in Tucson, Arizona. He is the author of Griffith’s Instructions for Patients, 8th Edition.
Dr. Moore, a Dartmouth College graduate, received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed residencies in internal medicine at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital and pediatrics at the University of Arizona. He is board certified in family practice.
In addition to authoring the highly regarded Griffith’s Instructions for Patients, Dr. Moore has edited or been technical consultant to several other books and is a lecturer for the American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiac Life Support course.
As the founder of Sonora Family Practice, Dr. Moore cares for newborns through centenarians, and has a special interest in sports medicine and cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine as well as the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Moore has been in private family practice since 1975 and has also served as Clinical Director for the U.S. Public Health Indian Health Service and as an emergency department physician. He is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and a clinical lecturer at the University of Arizona School of Medicine. Previously Dr. Moore has been Medical Director at Tucson Awareness House and Chairman of Family Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He is a multiple recipient of the Physicians Recognition Award from the American Medical Association.
