Steven R. Goldstein, MD, FACOG, CCD, NCMP is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the New York University School of Medicine, and Director of Gynecologic Ultrasound and Co-Director of Bone Densitometry. He is in private practice in New York City, and is the co-author of Gynecologic Ultrasound: A Problem-Based Approach.

A magna cum laude graduate of Colgate University, Dr. Goldstein received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. He did an internship at the Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the New York University Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG), a certified Clinical Densitomitrist (CCD), and NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner (NCMP).

Considered one of the nation’s top doctors in gynecology, Dr. Goldstein has been an examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is past chairman of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, New York Section. He is an immediate past president of the North American Menopause Society and the current President Elect of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. Dr. Goldstein has written 8 medical textbooks, 2 layperson books, 12 chapters, 87 original papers, and has been an invited lecturer or visiting professor 385 times all over the United States and the world.

Dr. Goldstein is the Associate Director of Undergraduate Medical Education for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the New York University School of Medicine. As the inventor of the Goldstein sonohysterography catheter, he has been an advisor to numerous medical device and pharmaceutical companies. His clinical and academic interests include gynecologic ultrasound, early pregnancy and its failure, abnormal uterine bleeding, ovarian cancer screening, menopause, perimenopause, abnormal pap smears, healthy aging, and medical education.
