Steven McGee, MD is Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle, and Staff Physician at the General Internal Medicine Clinic, Seattle Puget Sound VA Medical Center. He is the author of Evidence-Based Physical Diagnosis, 3rd Edition.
Dr. McGee received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and completed his internship, residency, chief residency, and fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease.
During Dr. McGee’s 30 years at the Seattle Puget Sound VA Healthcare System, he has supervised the medical students who rotate through the VA, and frequently attended at morning report and on the general medicine wards and the infectious disease service. His favorite teaching activity is bedside rounds, which he conducts twice weekly with medical students and chief residents. His main research interest has been the subject of physical diagnosis, its diagnostic accuracy, and how best to teach others how to use it in the care of patients.
Dr. McGee has been honored with a Margaret Anderson Award (UW graduating class, 2010) and a ACP-ASIM Fellowship in 2003.
