Todd H. Baron, MD is a professor of medicine in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is the co-author of ERCP, 3rd Edition and the author of Pancreaticobiliary and Luminal Stents, An Issue of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Clinics.
Dr. Baron received a Master Endoscopy Award from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) in 2010. From 2006 to 2008 he served as chair of ASGE’s Standards of Practice Committee. In 2009, he served as chair of the editorial board of the journal Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Baron has contributed to nearly 250 articles in the field.
Dr. Baron is board certified in gastroenterology. His professional interests include advanced therapeutic endoscopy, ERCP, drainage of pancreatic pseudocysts, placement of expandable stents, endoscopic palliation of GI malignancies, removal of large polyps, and endoscopic treatment of Zenker’s diverticula.
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Florida at Gainesville, Dr. Baron performed an internship in internal medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He then completed a residency in internal medicine, and a fellowship in gastroenterology, at the same institution. Subsequently, at Duke University Medical Center, Dr. Baron completed a Third-Tier Biliary Fellowship.
