Philadelphia, PA – December 1, 2020 – Urologic Clinics of North America is pleased to announce that Kevin R. Loughlin, MD, MBA has joined the series as Editor-in-Chief. In this role, Dr. Loughlin will direct the content for four issues per year, ensuring that urologic content is brought to our readers, practicing urologists, and customers.
Dr. Loughlin is a Professor of Surgery (urology), Emeritus at Harvard Medical School. He is currently a visiting scientist at the Vascular Biology Research Program at Boston Children’s Hospital. He was a practicing urologist for 35 years in Boston.
He received an AB from Princeton University, an MD from New York Medical College, an MA (Hon.) from Harvard University, and an MBA. from Boston University. Dr. Loughlin is a trustee, emeritus of the American Board of Urology and has served on the Prostate Cancer Early Detection Panel of the NCCN. He also served on the AUA board of directors. He received the Alumnus Medal of Honor from New York Medical College, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the New England section of the AUA, and the Distinguished Service Award from the AUA. He has served on multiple editorial boards and has received multiple faculty teaching awards.
Dr. Loughlin has written over 300 articles and book chapters in urologic literature. He is also the author/editor of 11 books and co-holder of 2 patents.

The first issue with Dr. Loughlin as Editor-in-Chief is the February 2021 issue, devoted to Robotic Urology: The Next Frontier (Guest Editors Jim C. Hu and Jonathan E. Shoag).
