Warren J. Manning, MD is Section Chief, Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center; Professor of Medicine and Radiology, Harvard Medical School in Boston. He is a co-author of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, 3rd Edition: A Companion to Braunwald’s Heart Disease.

 

Dr. Manning received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and did his residency in Internal Medicine and subspecialty training in Cardiology at the former Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.

 

Dr. Manning’s fields of interest include the application of echocardiography to the management of atrial fibrillation and the application of magnetic resonance to the cardiovascular system.

 

Dr. Manning serves as an editorial consultant and member of various editorial boards including Circulation, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and the World Journal of Cardiology. He is currently the co-editor of the “Images in Cardiovascular Medicine” section of Circulation and co-editor of Non-invasive Cardiac Imaging and Stress Testing as well as the Echocardiography Section of UpToDate. He has co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and more than 100 reviews, book chapters and has edited several textbooks.

 

He serves on the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission MRI Board of Directors as a representative of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) In addition to being a past president of SCMR, Dr. Manning is a member of several other professional societies including the Massachusetts Medical Society, the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE).
