Wayne Johnston, MD is professor and R. Fraser Elliot Chair in Vascular Surgery at the University of Toronto and a vascular surgeon at Toronto General Hospital. His principal areas of research are abdominal aortic aneurysm repair and hemodynamics and Doppler ultrasound. Dr. Johnston’s clinical interests are general vascular surgery, abdominal and thoracic aneurysm repair, and visceral ischemia. Author or co-author of more than 50 articles in medical journals, Dr. Johnston is co-author of Rutherford’s Vascular Surgery, 2-Volume Set, 7th Edition.
Dr. Johnston received the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS). The SVS is an international organization that “seeks to advance excellence and innovation in vascular health through education, advocacy, research and public awareness.” The award is the highest honor that the Society and specialty bestows.
