Ziad Issa, MD is Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. He is on staff at Prairie Cardiovascular Consultants in Springfield, specializing in cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Issa is a co-author of Clinical Arrhythmology and Electrophysiology, 2nd Edition: A Companion to Braunwald’s Heart Disease.
Dr. Issa received his medical degree from the University of Jordan School of Medicine in Amman, Jordan, and performed his residency and fellowship (cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology) at Indiana University School of Medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology, and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Cardiology, and the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Issa has authored several manuscripts and abstracts concerning heart arrhythmias, and is a nationally known expert in the area of cardiac electrophysiology.
