Alon Y. Avidan, MD serves as Director of the UCLA Sleep Center where his clinical interests include the evaluation and treatment of sleep-disordered breathing, narcolepsy, parasomnias, circadian rhythm disorders, and restless leg syndrome. His primary activities focus on medical student and physician education in sleep medicine. Dr. Avidan is the author of the book Review of Sleep Medicine, 4th Edition.
Dr. Avidan attended medical school at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences where he also obtained a Master of Public Health. He then went on to complete his neurology Residency at the Georgetown University Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident. After residency, he completed a Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Sleep Disorders at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
