Andrew E. Budson, MD is Associate Director of Clinical Alzheimer’s Disease Programs for the Bedford Division of the VA New England Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center. He has also served as Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School. He is a respected teacher of and lecturer on Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, with primary research interests in exploring “false recognition” in patients with Alzheimer’s disease and focal brain lesions. Clinically, he works with patients with memory loss and dementia. He is a co-author of Memory Loss, Alzheimer’s Disease, and Dementia, 2nd Edition and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy.

 

Dr. Budson earned his MD at Harvard Medical School. He was a clinical fellow in behavioral neurology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and a research fellow in psychology at Harvard University. He is board certified in neurology. He has received continual research funding from the National Institutes of Health since 1998, and has received a National Research Service Award and a Career Development Award.
