Arash Naeim, MD, PhD is director of the Geriatric Oncology Program and an associate professor-in-residence of medicine and hematology/oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine of the University of California at Los Angeles. He is the co-author of Management of Cancer in the Older Patient.

Dr. Naeim is board certified in medical oncology. He received his medical degree from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine in 1995. He went on to perform an internship and residency in internal medicine, and fellowships in hematology and geriatric medicine, also at UCLA.

Possessing special expertise in adjuvant chemotherapy, breast cancer, and hormone-dependent cancer, Dr. Naeim has authored numerous articles in the field. His clinical interests include geriatric breast, lung, and prostate cancer.

Dr. Naeim is trained in health services research with an emphasis on cost-effectiveness and decision-making in older cancer patients. In recent years, he has also been involved in developing informatics in hematology/oncology. He is interested in how electronic databases and medical records can be used in outcomes research, patient/physician education, and healthcare interventions. Dr. Naeim holds the position of Director of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (JCCC) Informatics Shared Resource, and is also a member of the JCCC Patients and Survivors Program Area.
