Conor Delaney, MB, BCh, BAO, MCh, PhD, FRCSI(Gen), FACS, is Professor of Surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland as well as Vice Chairman in the Department of Surgery and Division Chief of Colorectal Surgery at UH Case Medical Center. Dr. Delaney is the author of Netter’s Surgical Anatomy and Approaches.

Dr. Delaney received his medical degree from the University College Dublin Medical School in Dublin, Ireland, and his PhD from the University of Pittsburgh and the University College Dublin Medical School. He performed a research fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh and a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Delaney’s clinical interests include laparoscopic colorectal surgery; carcinoma of the colon, rectum and anus; Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis; sphincter-saving surgery; re-operative abdominal surgery; and colonoscopy. His research interests include various aspects of colorectal surgery, cost-efficiency in surgery, and operative training methodology.

Dr. Delaney has given numerous lectures nationally and internationally and has published books and articles in peer-reviewed journals on topics relating to surgical education, colorectal surgery, laparoscopic colorectal surgery and perioperative care for intestinal surgery.

The recipient of numerous prizes, scholarships and awards over the course of his career in training, education, and research, Dr. Delaney is also listed in U.S. News Top Doctors in the top 1% of his specialty. He is a member and serves on administrative committees of many professional societies, serves on the editorial board of several journals, and is the founder and past-president of the International Society of Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery.
