Dr. Lager is currently Director of Renal Pathology at ProPath® in Dallas Texas. Dr. Lager completed training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Iowa and joined the faculty of the Department of Pathology at the University of Iowa in 1990. In 1997 she moved to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Under her leadership, the Mayo Clinic Renal Biopsy service grew to become one of the largest in the world. Dr. Lager has over 75 peer reviewed publications, book chapters and abstracts. She is the co-editor of Practical Renal Pathology, A Diagnostic Approach, a volume in the Pattern Recognition series. She lectures on native renal disease and renal transplant pathology at national and international medical conferences and meetings.
Dr. Lager’s other subspecialty interests are in heart transplant pathology, gastrointestinal pathology and urologic pathology. She has been active in medical student and resident/fellow education throughout her career.
