Elaine C. Jong, MD is Emeritus Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA. She was founder of the first Refugee Medicine Clinic at the University of Washington and was among the founders of the University of Washington Travel and Tropical Medicine Service.
Dr. Jong has had broad clinical experience with travel and tropical medicine and infectious diseases. She served as attending faculty physician in emergency medicine for nine years at University of Washington Medical Center. Dr. Jong is Director of the Student Health Service and Campus Health Services for the University of Washington now for over a decade.
Dr. Jong has authored many published health articles and chapters, and was the founding and current lead editor of the Travel and Tropical Medicine Manual, 4th Edition, and is an editor of Netter’s Infectious Disease.
