James G. Marks, Jr., MD is professor and chair of Dermatology at Penn State University’s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine. He received his MD from Temple University School of Medicine in 1971. After serving for three years as a general medical officer at the United States Air Force Hospital in Aviano, Italy, Dr. Marks completed a residency in Dermatology at Wilford Hall United States Air Force Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Marks is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Society for Investigative Dermatology, Association of Military Dermatologists, Dermatology Foundation, Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology, Philadelphia Dermatology Society, North American Contact Dermatitis Group, American Contact Dermatitis Society (Vice-President and President), European Society of Contact Dermatitis, and Pennsylvania Medical Society. He has served as a consultant to the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and to private industry. Dr. Marks is a panel leader for the Cosmetic Ingredient Review, which determines the safety of personal care products sold in the United States. He is also co-inventor of two patents.
He has published more than 180 articles, book chapters, and abstracts on various dermatologic topics and Dr. Marks is co-author of Lookingbill and Marks’ Principles of Dermatology, 6th Edition.
