Jay T. Bishoff, MD, FACS is Director of the Intermountain Urological Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah and Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is a co-author of Atlas of Laparoscopic and Robotic Urologic Surgery, 3rd Edition.
Dr. Bishoff is a graduate of the Uniformed Services University of The Health Sciences – Bethesda, Maryland and a war veteran from Operation Iraqi Freedom. He completed his general surgery internship and residency in urology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center – Lackland AFB and his Endourology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. His post-doctoral fellowship was in laparoscopic oncology and kidney stone disease.
Dr. Bishoff’s expertise and areas of research are in the latest minimally invasive oncology techniques including robotics, laparoscopy, cryotherapy, and radio frequency ablation. He is an internationally recognized expert in kidney, prostate, adrenal, penile, and testis cancer treatment techniques using robotics, laparoscopy, single port surgery (LESS) cryotherapy, and radio frequency ablation. He is a member of the Huntsman-Intermountain Cancer Care Program. As a researcher, Dr. Bishoff has authored four surgical books and is a contributing author of numerous book chapters and more than 120 peer-reviewed articles.
