Joshua M. Abzug, MD is Associate Professor of Orthopaedics and Pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine; Deputy Surgeon-in-Chief, UM Childrens Hospital; Vice-Chair of the Dean’s Council for Pediatric Surgery; Director of Pediatric Orthopaedics, University of Maryland Medical Center; and Director, University of Maryland Brachial Plexus Clinic. He is a co-author of Pediatric Hand Therapy.

 

Dr. Abzug earned his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine, after which he performed fellowships at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children (Pediatric Orthopaedics), Shriners Hospitals for Children-Philadelphia (Pediatric Orthopaedics), and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (Hand Surgery).

 

Dr. Abzug is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows as part of his position at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. In addition, he teaches numerous physicians at the local, regional, and national levels. Dr. Abzug’s research pertains to the pediatric upper extremity; he has presented his findings locally, nationally, and internationally. His research has been published in numerous medical journals, and he has authored multiple book chapters.

 

Dr. Joshua Abzug was named a “Top Doctor” in Pediatric Orthopaedics by Baltimore magazine in 2016.
