Manuel Pardo, Jr., MD is Professor of Anesthesia at the University of California, San Francisco. He is a co-author of Basics of Anesthesia, 7th Edition.
Dr. Pardo received his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, followed by an anesthesia residency and critical care medicine fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Pardo is currently the Program Director of the UCSF Anesthesia Residency and the Vice Chair for Education at the UCSF Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care. His interests include undergraduate and graduate medical education, medical simulation training, and new training pathways in residency programs.
A founding member of the UCSF Academy of Medical Educators, Dr. Pardo has also served as Chair of the Academy’s Innovations Funding and Scholarship Working Groups. For ten years, he held the Sol Shnider Endowed Chair for Anesthesia Education at UCSF.
