Marie Rivera-Zengotita, MD is Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, where she specializes in muscle pathology, neuropathology, and eye pathology. She is a co-author of Neuropathology, a volume in the High Yield Pathology series.
Dr. Rivera-Zengotita graduated from Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico and completed her residency training in anatomical pathology at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. She went on to complete a neuropathology fellowship at the Methodist Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Rivera-Zengotita trained in tumor neuropathology at MD Anderson Cancer Center with Dr. Greg Fuller and in general neuropathology with Dr. Susan Z. Powell. She is board certified in anatomic pathology and neuropathology.
Dr. Rivera-Zengotita brings considerable expertise in neuromuscular and ophthalmic pathology to her current position, in addition to providing outstanding skill in surgical and autopsy neuropathology. Working directly with University of Florida Director of Neuropathology Dr. Anthony Yachnis, her responsibilities include signing out central nervous system lesions, muscle biopsies, and ocular specimens.
