This edition continues the grand tradition of Tietz with its superb coverage of clinical chemistry and molecular diagnostics. I will be very interested in watching it mature in hematology, coagulation, microbiology, and transfusion medicine over the editions, as this new foray is not yet competitive with currently available subject-specific books. For the past 20 years, this book has been one of the most used books, on my bookshelf. It’s a fantastic resource when you want to review specific anesthetic challenges posed by a patient’s comorbidity or drug usage. MORE

This is a superior addition/update to the field of hepatology and an invaluable resource for the medical library of any clinician treating liver patients. Pairing the book with an online resource is basically a requirement today, with so many purchase options available. MORE

This book is comprehensive in its coverage, but doesn’t get too bogged down in esoterica. The print version has grown quite large (over 700 pages), making the electronic version particularly attractive for users interested in having the book available at the point of care but who do not want to carry a bulky book around the operating room.
