Patricia R. Chess, MD is Professor, Departments of Pediatrics and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester Medical Center; and Director, Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program at Golisano Children’s Hospital. She is the author of Avery’s Neonatology Board Review: Certification and Clinical Refresher.
Dr. Chess received her MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and performed a pediatric residency and neonatal-perinatal fellowship at the University of Rochester.
She has been the recipient of numerous awards including Extracorporeal Life Support Organization Gold Center of Excellence; University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry Trainee Academic Mentoring Award in Clinical Programs; Ruth A. Lawrence Academic Faculty Service Award for Excellence in Training; and Strong Memorial Hospital Exceptional Service Award. She has been named multiple times in Best Doctors in America and America’s Best Doctors.
Dr. Chess’ research focuses on lung injury and repair in the neonate and optimizing treatment of neonatal respiratory failure. She serves on the Executive Council, Organization of Neonatal Training Program Directors.
