Richard B. Berry, MD is Professor of Medicine in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine, and Chief of the Pulmonary Section, Malcom Randall VAMC Medical Director and Sleep Disorders Center Shands at AGH. He is author of Fundamentals of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Berry earned his MD at the University of Florida, Gainesville. He went on to complete a residency at the University of California, Irvine and a fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville. His clinical interests include sleep disorders, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, and nocturnal respiratory failure. His research interests include the pharmacological treatment of sleep apnea, mechanisms of respiratory arousal, and pharmacology of the upper airway muscles. Dr. Berry has served as PI on grants from the Veterans Administration Merit Review.
