Stephen H. Sheldon, DO, FAAP is professor of Pediatrics at the Northwest University School of Medicine and director of the Sleep Medicine Center of the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Board certified in sleep medicine and pediatrics, he is very active in the clinical practice of pediatric sleep medicine and has an intense involvement in pediatric sleep medical education and research. Dr. Sheldon graduated from Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in pediatrics at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center, Chicago. He completed a faculty fellowship in Sleep Medicine at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Sheldon has served as a consultant on committees and task forces across a wide range of government, academic, and public endeavors including The Education Committee of the Ambulatory Pediatrics Association, chair of the Continuing Medical Education Committee and the Fellowship Training Committee of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).  He has served AASM as a board member and as Secretary/Treasurer as well.  He currently serves on the boards of the American Insomnia Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Sheldon is senior editor of the premier textbook for the medical profession on diagnosing and managing all sleep problems in infants and children: Principles and Practice of Pediatric Sleep Medicine.
