Tom Minas, MD, MS, an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School and Director of the world-renowned Cartilage Repair Center, is a leading orthopaedic surgeon specializing in cartilage repair. It was his clinical and laboratory leadership in non-arthroplasty treatment options that led to the 2000 opening of the Cartilage Repair Center. He specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and hip, total and partial joint replacements, and joint preserving osteotomies.

Dr. Minas also holds a master’s in Epidemiology. He chairs the Outcomes Committee on the Executive Board of the International Cartilage Repair Society, sits on the Board of Directors for the Cartilage Research Foundation, has been published in more than 90 medical publications, and is the author of A Primer in Cartilage Repair and Joint Preservation of the Knee.
