A. Wayne Vogl, PhD is professor of cellular and physiological sciences at the University of British Columbia. He is recognized for his research in the area of cell biology of the male reproductive tract, and is a highly regarded educator. He is an editor of the second edition of Gray’s Basic Anatomy, Gray’s Anatomy for Students, 2nd Edition, Gray’s Anatomy for Students Flash Cards, 2nd Edition, Gray’s Atlas of Anatomy, and Dorland’s/Gray’s Pocket Atlas of Anatomy.

Dr. Vogl is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the American Society for Cell Biology, the Society for the Study of Reproduction, and the American Association of Anatomists. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of British Columbia, he was a research fellow at Harvard Medical School. He has directed the Gross Anatomy program at the University of British Columbia for many years. Dr. Vogl is a seven-time recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award from the UBC Medical Undergraduate Society, the University Teaching Prize from the University of British Columbia, the Killam Teaching Prize from the University, the Basmajian/Williams and Wilkins Award from the American Association of Anatomists, and the JCB Grant Award from the Canadian Association for Anatomy, Neurobiology, and Cell Biology.
