Brian Kloss, DO, JD, PA-C is an Emergency Medicine Physician and Assistant Professor, SUNY Upstate Medical University, VA Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. He is a co-author of Graphic Guide to Infectious Disease.
Dr. Kloss practiced as a Physician Assistant prior to graduating from the University of Buffalo School of Law and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Osteopathic Medical School. Having a passion in Emergency Medicine, he completed his EM residency at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, New York. He also performed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Liver Disease and is board certified in Emergency Medicine. As an advocate for the PA profession and those PAs interested in Emergency Medicine, he developed a Post-Graduate Fellowship Training Program in Emergency Medicine for Physician Assistants at the SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Dr. Kloss’s professional interests include toxicology, medical education, substance abuse, legal medicine, risk management, EMS and disaster medicine, administration, and social media and medical education.
Together with Travis Bruce, a talented artist, illustrator, and designer, Dr. Kloss aims to educate physicians, nurses, medical students, and other healthcare providers using humor and comic book illustration. Dr. Kloss enjoys playing vintage video games, collecting action figures, reading comic books, and listening to old-school hip hop. In his spare time he travels around the world lecturing on topics in emergency medicine.
