Henri Colt, MD is a professor of clinical medicine and director of clinical programs in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of California at Irvine. Before joining the staff at UCAL Irvine, Dr. Colt was a professor of medicine and director of interventional pulmonary services at the University of California, San Diego. He is the author of Bronchoscopy and Central Airway Disorders.

Dr. Colt is an internationally recognized authority and leader in advanced pulmonary endoscopic procedures. He lectures worldwide on bronchoscopic laser resection and stenting, novel endoscopic and optical technologies and teaching modalities, and thoracoscopy and pleural diseases. Dr. Colt is also certified in medical ethics and is frequently an invited speaker on humanitarian aid, palliative care, and end-of-life care.

Obtaining his medical degree from the University of Nice in France in 1982, Dr. Colt completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh Affiliated Hospitals, and performed a fellowship in pulmonary critical care medicine at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. Dr. Colt has served as President of the American Association for Bronchology and is a regent of the World Bronchology Association and chairman of the World Bronchology Foundation. His work in education won him the San Jose de San Martin award from the South American Association for Bronchology, and he has been awarded honorary membership in several international bronchology and thoracic societies.

Listed annually in Best Doctors in America since 1996, named a U. S. News Top Doctor, and included in Orange Coast Magazine’s Best Doctors, Dr. Colt has authored over 120 peer-reviewed research articles plus numerous book chapters, textbooks, and review papers.
